
Ugh. I feel as if someone hit me over the head with a sledgehammer. In answer to the bad night of sleep I had last night I went to bed pretty early and fell asleep like a log – and now I have a humongous headache.
Cat story continued: yesterday I was very muchly annoyed. The last I heard was that the second shot hadn’t worked, and that Angela was on her way to second vet to make sure the cat got a cesarian. When we arrived home, her car wasn’t parked out front, so I waited a bit for her [ ... ]

When my neighbour arrived at the vet, she was scolded because she hadn’t brought the cat to the vet the day before. The vet said that the kittens probably didn’t have a chance now
Thing is, Angela had called the weekend vet the day before, who said she could wait to go in until monday. Liesbeth, Arno’s sister who’s a vet, said the same. Lovely.
Anyhow, the vet palpated and said she thought there were two kittens still in the uterus, and gave the cat a shot to inhibit contractions. That didn’t work however, so my neighbour went back to the [ ... ]

I just found out Alanis is playing in Lokeren at the Lokerse Feesten on august 10. The day I scheduled the photoshoot with the make-up artist. It’s so frustrating to constantly either be sick, have something else important to do or be on holiday when she plays nearby. On the other hand, it’s only an hour’s drive away from Breda. And she plays around 23:00. It’s an hour drive from the shoot location to Breda, and I expect the shoot to end around 18:00 so it’s perfectly feasible. I just don’t know how knackered I am going to be. Then [ ... ]

Today I witnessed the birth of four little kittens
My neighbour had taken in a pregnant cat her friend could no longer care for. She now broke her hand in two places, so when she got home with the groceries this afternoon, she asked me to help her carry some of the stuff for her little girls’ birthday into the house. When I put the things in the kitchen, we both noticed that the little cat had crawled into the small space beneath the scratching pole, and was panting quite heavily.
