Annoyances

Dec 7, 2008 by

I can’t say I am having the best of weekends. It’s really too bad, because Friday when I was on my way to Rijswijk to meet up with Brenda and Kelly, I really had such a content feeling. The week had gone more than well, four days of work of which two at a new client. I felt content and proud of myself.

The day itself was wonderful as well. Sauna with the girls, dinner with the girls and Kat in Haarlem. Good talks, laughter, the trip back to Rijswijk in the car with Kel. All good fun.

The train I wanted to take to Breda at 23:32 didn’t go any further than Dordrecht. I had to wait half an hour on a freezing station in Dordrecht where there was no place to sit because they’d closed off the station hall. When I finally got to Breda Prinsenbeek at around 1:30, I discovered I had a flat tire and had to walk home instead of bike. Suffice to say I was less than amused.

Yesterday when we got home we discovered a Vodafone bill for Arno’s iPhone of a staggering 1100 euro proportion. It has to be a mistake .. but when I read VF’s insane policy on outside-bundle internet use, I’m starting to wonder.

And to top it of we just discovered that the flat tire on my bike was caused by someone being very funny – haha – and removing the entire valve out of my front tire. It’s a VERY good thing I didn’t discover that on the spot on friday – I think my atomic bomb would have left a crater where the station is now situated.

Will the owner of the two keys in a black little pouch that I found in my purse this morning reveal him- or herself?

My fuzzbrain hurts too much to wrap my head around whomever it was who either put them there, or asked me to put them there ;)

Thank you America

Nov 5, 2008 by

We went to bed in the Bush era. We woke up in the Obama era. Thank you America. Thank you, so so much.
I actually didn’t put my hopes up too high – forecasts usually don’t really mean anything, but I guess today we witnessed something historical.

America put aside any thoughts on race, on how his name sounds, on age. Instead it thought of idealism, merits, and looking forward. I hope Obama can slowly mend what Bush destroyed.
