Weekend

Friday night was really good with me, Olli, Bren and Kel having drinks at the Fiddler (or at least, they did), going to Oni for yet another fabulous sushi-fest, and then returning to the Fiddler for more drinks. I love how we spend more time together lately. It’s so easy to immerse in work and forget you have a social life.

I had something to celebrate – a very good lead on a possible new client. A structural one. Very happy about that. We’ll see on january 7th I guess.

On the way back I lucked out with the train. It was raining pretty badly when I was waiting for the tram, which arrived at 23:51 while I knew my train would depart at 00:01. I really thought I wouldn’t make it, and if it had been on time I probably wouldn’t have, but it had a delay of 10 minutes. Hah. For one time the public transportation was on my side Can’t say that biking home in the rain at 1:30 was a joy, but oh well.

The next day I woke up with a hangover (eh? I had three drinks for crying out loud!) and basically the entire day except the evening was ruined by it. We cleaned the car, which was long overdue, bought fireworks for the uncoming party at Kelly’s (which in the end had me pissed and chagrined) – after which we actually still needed to do grocery shopping but I just asked Arno to drive us home. I just didn’t want to cope with a full grocery store impounding on my headache.

In the evening things subsided a bit and we went to see Arno’s father sing in the Kempenkoor. They did a beautiful rendition of the Messiah by Handel in the church in Oirschot. And now … it’s time already to more or less get going to IJdo’s where we’ll be having a table-top roleplay session. Catch you later.

PS: what do you think of the new layout? I know it’s dark, but I love the lifestream option that came with it. I also think search etc now finally works, as it didn’t with the last one. And at least you don’t have to click around to find my posts
