Photoshoot!

The weekend was fun but exhausting. Saturday morning we had to get up early to drive to Veldhoven for Arno’s nephew’s birthday. He turned six, and we brought him a funny card and an envelope with money so he could save up for a bigger present from the Playmobil catalogue. Man, that stuff is expensive! 8-O

I’d planned to arrive early and leave early, since I had to pack for the photoshoot on sunday and drive to Maarssen. It was not to be. By the time it was 2 pm, Arno was smack dab in the middle of fixing computer problems, which resulted in reinstalling XP from scratch. Around 3.30 PM I dragged FIL upstairs to take over so we could get home and I could get to Maarssen around 6. It was a hurried end of the day with me throwing stuff into the car when we were home and then leaving again.

IJdo and I drove to the Cinemec in the evening to essentially do two things: check out the location (since it was to be the second location for the photoshoot the day after) and to go watch the Dark Knight. Bad move, because we didn’t reservate any tickets and by the time we got there, there were only front row seats available. No thanks – we’d only end up with a pretty sore neck. We did find some suitable spots for the shoot and then drove home again where we watched Hot Fuzz. To be honest, at first it didn’t sound like much, but boy did I turn out to be wrong. Very funny. Over the top, but not too. I recommend it highly.

Sunday morning started very early with the drive to Woudenberg. I had been pretty nervous, but that subsided when we arrived. Despite the bad weatherforecasts the day turned out to be fairly lovely, especially in the afternoon, so we decided to ditch the inside locations and shoot outside instead. I haven’t had time to review most of the photo’s yet, but they did look promising. I hope so …. otherwise the five brides dressed up for nothing but the pleasure of wearing their bridal gowns one time more.

By the time we were done I was completely knackered from running around, ducking, crouching and shooting in strange positions, and constantly planning your next shot ahead. In the process I’d actually ripped my pants (got stuck under a bench at the restaurant where we were shooting). I only thought I’d hit my butt pretty hard, but after a while a couple of giggling brides informed me that there was in fact a rather large tear on my left buttock. I didn’t know how fast to knot my jacket around my waist

The drive home was pretty challenging with me singing to myself to keep awake. When home, Arno ran a bath which was heavenly. And now I need to wait until thursday to start processing the images. I hope there are some useable ones ;)
