Castle Wurfeld

Let me start this by saying, that yes, I am a nerd. I am sitting here in this wonderful fairytale-like castle, in a canopied bed, and … I’m on my laptop. They have internet here! *squeal*

This place is unbelievable. It’s situated in a park which is like 2 hectometers square, with christmas lights and decorations everywhere, on the edge of a cute little village with a dozen of very nice little restaurants. The room is not large, but quite luxurious, with (like I said) a canopied bed (teehee! I feel like a princess), a very nice tub, marble floors, a huge wardrobe with two big mirrors … the diningroom downstairs is sumptuous, there’s a spa nearby … whoa.

After we’d arrived and put away the clothes and stuff, we ventured out into Maaseik and had dinner in a lovely little restaurant called Senor Sanchos, which served a fabulous tapasdisc.

That consisted of a rolling-round wooden disk heaped with all kinds of goodies like chickenwings, spareribs, unionrings, calamari, scampi, salad, olives, dipsauces, meatballs … you name it. We had a baked potatoe on the side with salt and sour cream, and for desert I had an almond/bittercookie parfait, while Arno had the Dame Blanche. We had a lovely seat at the fireplace btw.

Ah man – this was just what we needed. The evening up till now consists of us being incredibly lazy, soaking in the tub, lying in bed and being cozy. Yup. Perfect start to a perfect holiday, even if my nose is still a little clogged. Nothing like a good night’s sleep can’t fix ;)

Enjoy it! You both deserved a rest.

And hopefully the warm bath will help your clogged nose.

You could argue which is nerdier of course: you using said laptop in the mentioned setting, or bringing it in the 1st place :D .

    Enjoy :D

No – the nerdiest is probably us sitting in bed – me uploading photographs and Arno playing WoW :D
