WoW annoyances

Trying to install the phpbb forum for the new shayol ghul site. There is nothing more annoying than a server going down in the middle of something like that. Can’t reach the db, can’t even ftp. So, it seems I have to let it wait until tomorrow.

Been playing WoW today – up until a certain point I was having much fun but then I got an invite for a party to Gnomeregan which in the end proved to be kind of frustrating. Been at it 4,5 hours – and didn’t even get a nice drop for it. The party was ok (good warrior) save for the lvl 34 druid who couldn’t make up his mind whether he wanted to tank or not.

Me: So, who’s doing what?
Druid: I heal
Me: ok, I’ll do secondary healing and tanking.

So we play … and there goes the druid into bearform. Whafuck?

Me: so ehm .. shall I heal then?
Druid: No, I heal!

*headdesk* I swear, it went like that the entire time, with the result that we were wiped several times. When I was at it with Arno, IJdo and Marsha, we cleared the place in no time. Bleh.

Was this the same idiot we grouped with in SFK? The druid who kept insisting on both tanking and healing until he logged?

    Idiot. :?

While guild parties can suffer from the same issue, I find that they do help a lot. Playing with people you at least somewhat know is very much fun. Played Zul’Farrak last night with a pure XSS group, Distel (and company) amongst them. We did very well, we made mistakes, sure, but they were the kind mistakes that makes instances fun.

Although I still shudder about aggro-ing 6 or 7 mob mages at once, healing our tank. All of a sudden you see 6/7 fireballs streaking towards you. Needless to say, I didn’t survive the second blast :D .

Well, this was an unfamiliar group – no other guildies except Moifur. I absolutely agree that guild parties are a blast. Most of the time well organised, and pple listen to eachother since they are in the same guild. Mistakes are ok – everyone makes those – but not listening and botching up while warned several times is another thing.

I mean, it is kinda stupid to have a druid 6 levels higher tanking while there already is a secondary and main tank present who are doing a good job. And then dying and insisting I res while we have a priest who’s almost dead and a dying main tank :S

Kat: no it was another one. Dunno what it is – maybe because of the versatility of druids they can’t make up their minds easily *g*. I must say that once I am in a party I choose a role and stick to it. Much too confusing otherwise.
