China Christmas
The last two weeks have consisted basically of getting to and from work, doing household stuff and sleeping. The four-hour commute to and from Amsterdam leaves me time for little else in the evenings. Right now I have no idea what is going on at WT – I simply do not have the time nor the energy to check up on things
It’ll be over though in a day. Tomorrow is my last day at the client in Amsterdam. It was a great project though – two corporate websites and an intranet needed to be overhauled design-wise. I learned much and it seems I will get things done in time despite the odds that we only had 8 days, and at first the html/css that would be delivered by a thirdparty designer was late. It all worked out brilliantly though, and yesterday I was quite proud of myself for having completely overhauled the who-is-who module of Smartsite – and it worked too
This morning when I walked towards the building where the client is housed I felt so, so tired …. and quite chagrined – until the point when I walked across the site where a couple of workmen are creating a new bicycle path and adjacent walkway. All the guys save one were dressed in the normal bright orange working gear that lets them stand out against virtually any environment or weather – the one out of the ordinary was dressed differently though! In a bright red santa-outfit with matching beard and christmas hat! It was all the more hilarious that it was a pretty young guy from Asian decent with a darkish skin – and a rail thin body. He grinned, I grinned, and suddenly I had that christmasy feeling I’ve been searching for in the past two weeks.
Life can be good. Life is good actually.
